COATINGS & FINISHES

Galvalume

Galvalume is a steel-based roof coating type that includes aluminum, zinc, and silicon that is up to twice as resistant to corrosion as galvanized steel. Invented by Bethlehem Steel Construction Company in the early 1970s, Galvalume coating is made by hot-dipping the metals onto steel coils to make them adhere to the material. The coating can remain with a plain mill finish or painted in a variety of colors. As one of the most popular roofing materials on the market today, it’s impressively durable. It is a low-maintenance material that will last for at least 40 years, providing significant savings throughout its lifetime.

Galvalume Plus

Galvalume PlusTM is a coated steel sheet that combines the excellent corrosion resistance of a GalvalumeTM coating with a clear, organic surface treatment. The resin coating is applied over both sides of the GalvalumeTM sheet as a final protective layer.

Silicone Modified Polyester

SMP (standard option)

SMP is a factory-applied and oven-baked protective coating used on GALVALUME®, galvanized steel or aluminum substrate. SMP combines excellent physical characteristics and aesthetic values for metal panels and components. Its uses in architectural, industrial, commercial, residential and institutional metal construction are numerous. SMP coatings are formulated for hardness and flexibility, making it a versatile and durable coating system when applied over a proprietary, corrosion resistant primer.

PVDF (optional paint system)

PVDF is often referred to as “KYNAR”. This coating is based on 70% KYNAR® OR HYLAR 5000® fluoropolymer resin, PVDF coatings are specified by leading architects and used by manufacturers of building products as a long-life exterior finish for aluminum, galvanized steel and Galvalume®. The liquid coating is factory applied and oven baked on properly prepared and primed substrates. PVDF coatings typically are used as exterior finishes for metal roofing and sidings. The building components can be post-formed from pre-coated coil stock.

LINERS AND SOFFIT PANELS

R Panel

R Panel is the same as the PBR panel without the purlin bearing leg.  This panel is also a thru-fastened wall panel.and is 36” wide 1 ¼” deep major ribs 12” o.c. The flat between each major rib is reinforced with two minor ribs giving the panel added strength.

Artisan Profile

Artisan Profile  is a flat panel 1” deep and 12” wide (net coverage).  This panel is a concealed fastener panel.  This panel can be ordered with or without beads (4” o.c.).  Beads are recommended to help in reducing oil canning.

PBR (Purlin Bearing Leg) same as the roof panel is a thru fastened wall panel and is the most widely used in the industry. This panel is 36” wide 1 ¼” deep major ribs 12” o.c. The flat between each major rib is reinforced with two minor ribs giving the panel added strength.

Three standing seam options:

Trapezoidal Snapdown is an impressive structural trapezoidal standing seam with a height of 3” and 24″ net coverage. Its snap seam feature eliminates the need for mechanical seaming, while its offset clips allow you to adjust depending on wind speeds. This sleek, easy-to-handle panel provides superior protection in any setting!

Trapezoidal Macanical Seam is also a structural trapezoidal standing seam that requires a mechanical seamer.  This panel is 3” tall with a 24” width (net coverage).  This panel can be offset either ⅜” (low clips) or 1 ⅜” (tall clips).  This panel is used where wind speeds are higher than normal.

Vertical Rib Macanical Seam is a vertical rib standing seam that requires a mechanical seamer.  This panel is 2” tall with a 16” width (net coverage).   This panel can be offset either ⅜” (low clips) or 1 ⅜” (tall clips).
